Okumikawa Unity Tourism
I'm passionate about sharing the beauty and history of where I live in Japan, and I want to make a more unique and immersive way for people to explore it from abroad, as a way to see what it has to offer, and to encourage people to visit.
I've started looking at options for future installations at tourist information centres and museums (and maybe apps), using real world GIS data for terrain topography and satellite imagery. I have turned this data into a Unity terrain object, meaning with time I can dress the terrain with trees and objects, and even insert driveable roads.
I'm also experimenting with options for traversing the map, including FPS controls, cars, and planes. I work on this as I have time, first is setting up our tour guiding and travel business and getting that stable, but my main hope is that a stable and user-friendly way to run webGL project in a mobile browser appears...
